Kendall Jenner is ready to address the internet rumor that she’s a closeted lesbian.
While chatting with Owen Thiele on the Jan. 9 episode of his In Your Dreams podcast, the 30-year-old model settled the speculation surrounding her sexuality.
“Then there’s the whole side of the internet that thinks I’m a lesbian,” Jenner said. “You want to know what really bothers me? Is how mean people are about it. It’s not with a welcoming arm of like, ‘Hey, if you were, yes, come join.’ It’s not kind. It’s very mean. It’s very like, ‘What the f*** are you doing?’”
Jenner told Thiele that at this point in her life, if she were a lesbian, she’d be open about it.
“I understand that coming out is not an easy thing, for anybody, if not most people,” she said. “… but I can speak for myself here, knowing myself, I think at this point in my life I’d be out if I was. … I’m just saying that knowing me and knowing how I would want to live my life, like, I would be. I’d have no problem being that.”
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star added, “I think that there’s this whole narrative that I’m hiding this thing … I’ve seen like, really f***ed-up things that ‘It’s bad for business,’ and I’m like, ‘What? How? I don’t understand it.’”
Jenner concluded that while she does not currently identify as a lesbian, she isn’t necessarily closing the door on any experiences. She went on to promise that if she were gay, “you’d probably know for real.”
“All’s to say, as of today, I am not,” she said. “I don’t think I will be, but I’m not closing doors to experiences in life.”
This isn’t the first time speculation has brewed surrounding Jenner’s personal life. The model has previously made headlines for her high-profile relationships with stars, including her on-again, off-again romance with Harry Styles and her two-year relationship with NBA player Devin Booker. Jenner was also linked to rapper-singer Bad Bunny. The pair reportedly dated on and off into fall 2024 and have maintained a friendship following their breakup.
When it comes to disclosing details about her romantic relationships, Jenner has famously remained tight-lipped to the public. What she has revealed, however, is that she’s more than happy being on her own.
“I’m actually super in a ‘me’ era right now,” she told Thiele. “I’ve had great relationships, I’ve had not-so-great relationships. I felt like through my 20s, I was in a few long-term, consistent relationships … so I never really had my 20s [to] myself. When I turned 29, I made a minor commitment to myself: I’m not gonna reject anything, I’m gonna stay open to anything that feels like it would suit me. But I really wanted to have a ‘me’ year where I chose myself.”
Jenner added, “I really wanted to fall in love with myself again.”
